Ofactor was founded in 2014 to help organizations increase employee engagement and engineer high-trust, high-performance cultures. Our solutions are the culmination of over 13 years of neuroscience research carried out in both our lab and in organizations by Neuroeconomist, and Ofactor Co-Founder, Dr. Paul J. Zak.

The “O” in Ofactor indicates a focus on oxytocin, the chemical foundation for trusting others that Paul's lab was among the first to discover. From this understanding of how the “trust molecule” works in the brain, we have identified policies that leaders can use to empower employees to excel and, at the same time, hold them accountable for their decisions.

Paul's research as the director of the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies at Claremont Graduate University has enabled us to develop the first scientifically validated measure of trust in organizations. You can read more about the research behind Ofactor in our whitepaper.
